Accessory Apartment Program

The Township of Harmony is looking for participants for its accessory apartment program. An accessory apartment is defined as “a self-contained residential dwelling unit with a kitchen, sanitary facilities, sleeping quarters and a private entrance, which is created within an existing home, or through the conversion of an existing accessory structure on the same site, or by an addition to an existing home or accessory building, or by the construction of a new accessory structure on the same site. This program is for farmers or other large landowners who would be interested in converting an existing accessory structure (i.e. barn) into an apartment for affordable housing. Township Code 47-21 provides a subsidy for landowner who take advantage of this program. For more information, regarding this program please contact the Township Clerk.
